The Keyholding Company
How long have you been at The Keyholding Company?

My journey with The Keyholding Company started back in 2016, so almost 2 years.

What do you like most about working at The Keyholding Company?

I cannot say enough great things of this company. I have a great manager and an amazing relationship with my co-workers. There is this wonderful, welcoming vibe that you feel as soon as you walk in through the doors each day. I have never experienced caring management all the way to the CEO, quite like at The Keyholding Company.

A day in the life

An average day in Credit Control is – hectic! It can be very busy and challenging. You are not only involved in collecting outstanding payments, but you also do things like checking credit ratings, maintaining credit limits, and of course keeping up to date on information.

As you can imagine, it is tough to get people to part with their money. At times it is even tougher to get to them on the telephone, that’s when creative thinking comes into play. I can tell you some stories…

Here is a breakdown of my day:

08:30 – 09:00am

Arrive and make what will be my second cup of coffee, and check my emails

09:00am – 1:00pm

Deal with all new and urgent queries. Check our credit control screen and plan my workload (see who has paid and who has not paid and who is due to pay today). Then the calling begins.

1:00pm to 2:00pm

Lunch, catch up on a book or chat with my colleagues and friends at the office. During summer I go for a walk outside by the river.

2:00pm – 5:30pm

Continue chasing outstanding debt, including historical debt.

Have you been promoted or moved teams in your time here? Could you describe the various roles you have had a KHC? How have you grown here? Has the company helped you realised your goals?

I started as a Customer Service Executive and then within 2 months, the company recognised my potential and transitioned me into the Billing team.

This is a great company like that, there is always opportunity to learn more and do more if you want to. We have a very entrepreneurial culture here.

Sonya Shokar

I am determined to be successful in whatever I take up. Within 2-3 months I had learnt Billing’s processes and responsibilities.

Whilst working in Billing I was approached with an opportunity in Credit Control. This was another opportunity for me to learn new skills and challenge myself. I was surprised that I absolutely loved credit control. I loved the variety it threw at me and the interaction it allowed me with different people. Every day was different. As I said, I love a challenge!

Working with the Keyholding Company has been a dream come true.

What do you like about your job?

I’ll give you four: The diversity. The challenge. The immense learning it has provided me. The simplicity it requires as a prerequisite.

If you love interacting with clients then that’s the biggest part of this job. You learn to be tactful, diplomatic and realise the power of discretion.

Why would you recommend someone work at The Keyholding Company?

We are a team at The Keyholding Company. People here are welcoming and friendly. We know that power of coming together to get things done.

This is a place where opportunities to learn are immense and growth is limitless. It is a fast-paced environment, work is challenging yet rewarding. Everyone will roll up their sleeves to deliver excellent customer service.
